Environmental Defense and its campaign partner, the Robertson Foundation launched this campaign as a wake-up call. Global warming is the most serious environmental challenge of our time. It is more urgent and its dangers are more fundamental than most Americans realize. This campaign seeks to educate Americans about how quickly we must act, and give concrete steps that people can incorporate into their lives to fight global warming.

We recognize that real behavior change takes place out in the local communities and that is why the mayors of our country play such an important role in this campaign. To date, more than 535 local mayors have signed the Climate Protection Agreement. We also worked closely with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to develop simple actions people can take in their everyday lives to combat global warming. To view those actions, go to: http://www.fightglobalwarming.com/page.cfm?tagID=1302
